The marginalised women we work with face various forms of violence within households, in work, in communities and the larger system including healthcare settings. Neralu builds the capacity of women and women collectives to recognise violence and respond to it. Women who were previously not recognizing the violence, have been increasing now coming forward to share during meetings and with other women.
We conduct workshops to empower women to think about gender, caste, class and patriarchy and how these play a role in daily life and within the larger society.
We have also been creating a support system to respond to women who survived violence – that includes social, legal, and emotional support. We work to improve access to available government and legal support systems among the women so that they are able to attain justice.
